Mine is not flowering yet, so I can't tell.

Christinaorganicgardendreamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11122516730008378516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5286710136867815403.post-50579185691824385862011-02-09T11:56:28.931-08:002011-02-09T11:56:28.931-08:00I enjoyed forcing bulbs once, but my husband almos...I enjoyed forcing bulbs once, but my husband almost died of allergies! Fortunately, I can grow them outside here. Hyacinth are one of my favorites.
I may try and Amaryllis again. I don't think he is allergic to them, as they have no fragrance, do they?
SandraRoses, Color, and Lighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10283445167602169648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5286710136867815403.post-72556888078047582642011-02-06T22:14:29.639-08:002011-02-06T22:14:29.639-08:00Darla, lucky you that you can grow all the bulbs o...Darla, lucky you that you can grow all the bulbs outside. Here we have the problem that for some of them it is actually not cold enough. So you have to do all the fancy things like chilling them in the fridge. Misting the Amaryllis sounds like a great idea to me!

HolleyGarden, I am happy if my post has inspired you to try to force bulbs. It is a lot of fun and not that much work. The fragrance of the bulbs is indeed wonderful. That alone is worth it. They really perfume the house.

Masha, I cross my fingers for the Amaryllis bloom, too. I guess, it will be the classical red one.

Sherry, thanks for your very nice comment regarding my post. Yes, give bulbs a shot next year. This kind of spring indoor gardening has really brought me a lot of joy!

Christinaorganicgardendreamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11122516730008378516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5286710136867815403.post-83196950790010352752011-02-05T21:55:36.186-08:002011-02-05T21:55:36.186-08:00What a great post, so simple and artistic and educ...What a great post, so simple and artistic and educational.
